The Joyful Painters Journey
The Vibe: playful, forgiving, and wildly colourful.
Forget everything you know about painting perfect, symmetrical still lifes! In this incredibly fun and low-pressure session, we are turning the humble teapot into a canvas of pure expression. We’ll look at wonky shapes, exaggerated spouts, and bold, unexpected colour combinations. This is all about making a mess on purpose and finding the beauty in it.
• Core Skill: Loosening Up & Colour Confidence.
• What You'll Learn: How to hold your brush to allow for happy accidents, mixing vibrant color palettes without muddying them, and breaking objects down into fun, expressive shapes rather than rigid, realistic forms.
When you buy this workshop, you’ll receive an email with a PDF download which has the password on it and instructions. Keep this safe! Then you’ll be able to come back and do the class as many times as you like, with lifetime access.

The Vibe: Tactile, immersive, and wildly experimental.
Step into a lush, imaginary jungle! In this session, we are throwing away the delicate brushes and picking up palette knives, sponges, and even our fingers. We will paint giant monsters, creeping vines, and vibrant, oversized blooms. It’s a tactile, immersive experience where you will learn to build up a canvas so thick and juicy you'll want to touch it.
• Core Skill: Layering & Creating Texture.
• What You'll Learn: Palette knife techniques, using impasto mediums to thicken your paint, creating depth by layering dark and light foliage, and scraping back paint to reveal hidden colours beneath.
When you buy this workshop, you’ll receive an email with a PDF download which has the password on it and instructions. Keep this safe! Then you’ll be able to come back and do the class as many times as you like, with lifetime access.

The Vibe: Intuitive, personal, and wildly freeing.
In our grand finale, you will bring everything you've learned together to find your unique artistic voice. We will take an everyday object—a favourite mug, a houseplant, or a pair of old shoes—and abstract it. We’ll combine painting with mixed media (pastels, ink, or pencil) to create a piece that is 100% you. There are no rules here, only your intuition guiding the way.
• Core Skill: Composition & Trusting Your Intuition.
• What You'll Learn: How to combine different materials (mixed media), balancing a composition using contrasting shapes and lines, knowing when a painting is "finished," and most importantly, how to trust your own creative instincts.
When you buy this workshop, you’ll receive an email with a PDF download which has the password on it and instructions. Keep this safe! Then you’ll be able to come back and do the class as many times as you like, with lifetime access.

The Vibe: Energetic, fast-paced, and full of character.
Have you ever wanted to paint an animal but got bogged down in rendering every single hair and whisker? Not today! In this workshop, we’ll paint leaping hares, soaring birds, or your favorite furry friends using large brushes and sweeping motions. We will focus on capturing the spirit and movement of the animal rather than photographic perfection.
• Core Skill: Gesture & Capturing Energy.
• What You'll Learn: "Speed painting" exercises to turn off your inner critic, using directional brushstrokes to imply fur and feathers, and how to capture the emotion and soul of an animal with just a few confident marks.
When you buy this workshop, you’ll receive an email with a PDF download which has the password on it and instructions. Keep this safe! Then you’ll be able to come back and do the class as many times as you like, with lifetime access.

The Vibe: Peaceful, expansive, and deeply relaxing.
Take a deep breath and let your mind wander to the horizon. This workshop is an invitation to get lost in the clouds. We’ll focus on creating dreamy, atmospheric skies—think fiery sunsets, moody storm clouds, or soft pastel dawns. This session is incredibly therapeutic, allowing you to blend, swirl, and melt colours together directly on the canvas.
• Core Skill: Blending & Wet-on-Wet Techniques.
• What You'll Learn: Seamless colour transitions, mastering the wet-on-wet technique for soft edges, using water (or mediums) to create magical blooms and drips, and choosing color palettes that evoke specific emotions.

I aim to help you understand the art of mixing colours and in doing so hopefully allow you to discover new colours that you never thought you could create which will add further depth and detail to your art.

I love to put a rogue cottage in my work. Buildings in a landscape anchor the scene, giving it rhythm and a sense of place. Their shapes, textures, and history contrast beautifully with nature’s wild energy, adding depth and storytelling. Whether bathed in golden light or tucked into rolling hills, they hold the spirit of a landscape, inviting the viewer in.
